Dated 5th May 2010
This order is passed in pursuance of the High Court of Allahabad order dated 3.8.2009 in Civil Miscellaneous Writ Petition No. 31904 of 1991, wherein the Hon'ble Court directed the Government of India to pass appropriate orders regarding the practice and education of Electropathy (Electro-Homoeopathy).
The matter has been examined in detail. Electropathy is a herbal-based system of medicine. The medicines used in this system are derived entirely from plant sources and are 100% safe. No complaints have been registered against the practice of Electropathy or its medicines causing any harm to the public.
Order dated 14.8.92 (Suit No. 27 of 1992): The court recognized the practice of Electropathy and restrained authorities from interfering with its practitioners.
High Court of Delhi, November 1998: The Hon'ble High Court of Delhi upheld the right of Electropathy practitioners to continue their practice and education.
Supreme Court Order dated 12.01.2000: The Hon'ble Supreme Court of India did not stay the orders of the High Courts and allowed practitioners to continue practicing Electropathy.
High Court of Jabalpur, MP, dated 19.3.1999: The Hon'ble High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur upheld the practice of Electropathy and protected the rights of its practitioners.
High Court of MP at Jabalpur, Bench Gwalior: The Hon'ble Gwalior Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court also ruled in favour of Electropathy practitioners, affirming their right to practice.
Reference is also made to the Deputy Minister's authorization letter dated 17.6.1991, which acknowledged Electropathy as a system of medicine and supported the rights of its practitioners to continue their practice and impart education in this field.
In view of the above facts and the various court orders, the Government of India has no proposal to stop the petitioners from practicing or imparting education in Electropathy. The practitioners of Electropathy may continue their practice and educational activities in accordance with the law.
